Villa Bettoni - Gargnano
|
Villa Bettoni characterizes the view on Bogliaco, hamlet of Gargnano, with an image of scenographic brightness. The building is an example of exceptional architectonic rigour. It was built at the beginnig of the 1700 by the architect Adriano Cristofori, the villa had been commissioned by Giandomenico Bettoni. The central part of the great palace is adorned by a balustrade with mythological statues, realized by Giovanni Battista Locatelli.
In the center of the building, the hall separates the wings of the villa, and it keeps frescoes of Beniamino and Fabrizio Galliari and to other works, that constitute a true picture gallery of baroque painting.
In front of the building, on the othe side of the road, there is the spectacular garden estern, characterized by a big exedra, a nymphaeum and flower-beds. Behind the garden there are some limonaie (greenhouse for lemon trees) and the park.
